Thursday, January 28th, 2010Do you have a home office? Is it always messy and cramped because of the fact it’s stuffed away in a corner? We know the problem. The solution: free the floor! You need to free some space to show the floor, or it’ll start to feel left out. You don’t want to upset the floor in your office, or heaven knows what it’ll do!
So, how’re you going to do this? Find some new, space effective, super duper storage systems and furniture. Simple. You want to find some furniture with a small draw or pen holder capability to clean up the clutter like paperclips, pens and pencils. That’ll make a massive difference, believe me.
You could choose a desk with allocated paper drawers or compartments, it’s a bit like in-built filing, and that can also free up more space on the work surface.
Get rid of any clunky furniture that doesn’t utilise the space it takes up. There’s nothing worse than having paper everywhere and realising there’s two foot of desk that’s clear, but you can’t reach it because it’s way away in the corner. Find something that fits the parameters of your room.
Throw away old paperwork you don’t need anymore. Don’t create a ‘to throw away later’ pile – just throw it away!
